Michael Poignand, Producing Director
Mike started work in New York City as an actor playing Badger in The Wind in the Willows at the New Victory Theatre in 1998. Since then he has acted in over fifty productions on New York, Regional and Off-Broadway stages. Recent Boston credits include: The Christians (Apollinaire Theatre Co), Or, (Maiden Phoenix/Simple Machine; Elliot Norton Best Actor Nominee) and Anthem's The Merry Way. Mike got his start producing plays with Ring of Fire Productions in 1999 with a production of Henry IV parts 1 and 2. The unique challenges of that production, which boasted a nine-unit video wall used as an interactive, live backdrop fed by off-stage cameras and pre-recorded media, quickly piqued his interest. Thus, in the years that followed, if he wasn’t acting, Mike was producing. He has had the pleasure of serving the production needs of InProximity Theatre, Lucky Productions, taxdeductible theatre, CEO Theatre, PST and Monday Morning productions. In addition to plays, he has produced two feature-length films with Chatham Light, a web series with Lucky Productions as well as two musicals. Originally from Concord, MA, Mike is honored to serve as Anthem’s Producing Director and is grateful for your support. He’s also wicked psyched to be back in Boston and to continue his long-standing collaboration with Johnny Kinsman. BFA, Syracuse. |
