I, Snowflake Written by Bryn Boice, devised by Anthem Theatre Company Directed by Bryn Boice Boston University Dance Theater, Boston, MA February 2017 REMOUNTED for The Cabinet of Curiosities Festival Charlestown Working Theater, Charlestown, MA May 2017
"I, Snowflake is a direct reaction to November’s election. Bryn Boice created a questionnaire that reached across the US into other territories asking the reader of their experiences. She drew on her experiences and asked others for theirs. The results are an amalgam of stories, media overwhelm, cats, song snippets, and fantasies that reflect the horrified experiences of we “snowflakes.” In 68 Vagina Monologues-esque minutes, we hyper-focus on what is wrong and what is right with American politics. We’re given hope that the tide will turn towards equality once again. The ensemble work in this production is selfless, and gorgeous. The all-lady cast gives of themselves unconditionally. We receive a deeply personal and personalized performance from them. Boice’s staging is inventive and enables the ensembles character work to blossom." --Kitty Drexel, New England Theatre Geek
Twelfth Night of the Living Dead By Brian MacInnis Smallwood, adapted from William Shakespeare Directed by Bryn Boice Plaza Black Box Theatre, Boston Center for the Arts, Boston, MA October & November 2016
"By injecting blood and guts into the play, Boice and the cast cast aside the shackles of historical importance to bring us an energized update on Shakespeare. If you can handle the flying brains and the squirting blood, this production could serve as a gateway drug to fall in love with the Bard anew." --Craig Idlebrook, New England Theatre Geek
"Surprisingly, it’s intelligent, hilarious fun. It’s gross and disgusting, but also compelling and deep. Did I mention hilarious? At the end of the performance you’ll be left stunned. What just happened? The actors clearly know what they are doing, without a weak performance in the cast. Erica Jade Simpson takes the lead, as the first zombie of many, with physical comedy that is laugh out loud funny. Her would-be human victims, oblivious to the danger she poses, avoid her bite by walking around the stage, slapping her, holding her in a hug, and more. Meanwhile they don’t break character, and every line in the play is taken from Twelfth Night." --Johnny Monsarrat, Boston Events Insider

Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol Adapted by Steve Wargo Musical Arrangements by Dianne Adams McDowell Directed by Michael Poignand The Plaza Black Box Theatre Boston Center for the Arts, Boston, MA December 2013
"...It’s the time of year when this is a comforting narrative, reassuring and gentle in its positivity. The fact this variation doesn’t shy away from the homeless and starving of Victorian London gives it a delicious authenticity, one worthy of productions past, present, and future." --Gillian Daniels, New England Theatre Geek
